OH DEAR! WHY ME?
By Salli
Someone on The Official Doors Website just asked me about the following quote which appears in Jacqueline Murray's forward of her book "Two Brothers."

The author claims Jim said the following: "The other person I wish to mention, that I have great admiration for is Salli Stevenson. I didn't know her well and it was purely platonic, but she is one of the rare ones who understood me. She was absolutely one of the smartest women I ever met. Salli, can explain me better than most."

After I stopped laughing because I know Jim would never say this, I became angry that Jacqueline Murray would use my name to validate her work without even asking me.

I interviewed Jim Morrison for Circus Magazine in October 1970. We became friends. The last time I spoke to him was in March 1971. Jim knew me very well. I knew him as well as Jim would let me. One of the things about being friends is sharing your lives, things that happened to you, your memories, feelings, ideas, hopes, dreams and nightmares. Jim and I were no different. We shared a lot with each other.

Jim almost never called me Salli. He liked my real name instead. He used my real name 99% of the time. You'd think if Jim really did talk to a medium and mention me, he'd want me to know it was really him, so he'd use the name he liked when he was alive instead of "Salli" to let me know it was really him, wouldn't you?

Obviously Jacqueline Murray didn't know any of this when she quoted "Jim Morrison" about me.

When I first heard of Murray, I checked her blog out. Everything I read about Jim, everything she had "Jim" saying, on her blog was readily available elsewhere. This was two years ago. I contacted one of the other psychics who promoted Murray on Murray's blog, so that I could check Murray out. I was told Murray was still so new in her mediumistic gift that she wasn't able to talk to anyone other than a few close friends. I persisted, got three email addresses and emailed her. Two of the addresses were unable to be delivered. Murray never responded to the one that was delivered. Instead she used my name to make this book seem more than what it is, a research project that uses a fictionalized character of a beyond the grave Jim to tell the story.

Murray has simply done what other authors who never met Jim have done. She has gathered her information from other books, magazines and interviews on The Doors and then given it a unique little twist, a "dead Jim" talking. Unfortunately some of what she attributes to Jim is inaccurate, just like what she said in the forward about the two of us.

Other authors have done a better and more accurate job. I'm also posting this review over on The Doors Board, just in case anyone wants to verify that I wrote this. - Salli Stevenson

Don't waist your time!
By Jamie Spencer
The worst book I have ever read about Morrison! Same old stories, only this time told through a psychic. Don't waist your money.

It's total B.S! Don't waste your time.
By J.O
This book is a complete scam! I have read the Michael Hutchence section of the book. Don't waste your money. It's published by AuthorHouse, this is a self-published work. Obviously no reputable publisher would touch it. I am totally open to the possibility of an afterlife or spirit world and that psychic phenomena does exist. I also don't mind a good biography. Why did I buy the book? Because I thought it might be a half decent holiday read. Don't buy this book.

I have been unable to find ANY information at all about the author except where to buy the book, which unfortunately is available in multiple places online. There's no picture of her, no website, no explanation about her amazing gift or how this world class psychic has managed to channel Jim Morrison, Michael Hutchence, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain. Need any more alarm bells? I even contacted a collegue of her's who endorsed the book and he said he hasn't heard a word from her in 3 years. So the Author seems to have dropped off the face of the earth? How convenient.

It's very difficult to enjoy something that you're always questioning. The information `he' gives her is repetitive. She basically reiterates all the speculation that's already been printed about him. She paraphrased practically verbatim a paragraph from an INXS Documentary that their tour manager had said about him and put it in `his' words. `He' uses words an Australian would just never say like `hiney' and `jerk'. The list goes on. It's all absolute bull.

Quite a few psychics endorsed the book. I'm not saying all psychics are charlottens. These other people who had a few pages in the book gave a lot more of a coherent account than she did. But then they're not releasing 700 page books of channeled material from dead celebrities. She goes off on tangents repeatedly about how "he" would only use one channel (her) because she's so pure of heart and intention, how appalled spirits in the afterlife are by people who do mislead others by lying about connecting to spirit. How much more manipulative to the reader can you get. She writes quotes from The Bible, talking about the Kabbalah, trying to prove channeling is possible - all supposedly channelled directly from Michael. It's full on rammed down your throat. It gets really weird and a bit scary. Maybe these are things she believes are real and has researched herself, if that's the case then fine. Write a book about that. But using Michael Hutchence's readership to tell the world about it supposedly from his beautiful spirit. Really? Come on!

All I can say is she did her homework. I didn't know he had his own fragrance, was close fiends with Dodi Al Fayed, had his teeth fixed (still not sure about that one), was forgetting his lyrics on the last US tour, was a Doors fan - still don't think this is true, was a really good swimmer, recorded a Christmas song as a young boy. Of course all these things can be found and verified online.

Don't remember Michael Hutchence this way. It breaks my heart as to what this must do to his family. A Tale it certainly is. Pure fiction not fact. I wouldn't be surprised if she wrote all these five star reviews herself. I hope this review has saved you $35.
