About the Author
Alonzo Kelly holds undergraduate degrees in aerospace engineering and computer science, and both undergraduate and graduate degrees in robotics. Dr Kelly worked in the aerospace industry for ten years before returning to academia. As a professor at the Robotics Institute, he teaches mobile robotics at the graduate and undergraduate levels, conducting research in robot simulation, modeling, controls, position estimation, motion planning and human interfaces.

Very good 'all-in-one' mobile robotics book

The book covers all relevant (high-level) aspects of (wheeled) mobile robotics. It follows a very thorough approach with a focus on the underlying math. It should be especially suitable for those searching for a deep insight and sound base to work in the field of robotics. I consider 'Mobile Robotics' a very good book for readers with some mathematical background. Furthermore, some intrinsic motivation may be required, since the book targets a very steep learning curve.
I will use it as textbook for my computer science graduate class on robotics, but will try to smoothen some of the 'hard edges'.

Comprehensive discussion of core concepts of modern mobile robotics, including mathematics fundamentals (can't do robotics without serious math!), state estimation, control, perception, motion planning and localization and mapping. Great work from a renowned mobile robotics expert.
